After graduating from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, Christopher Michiels began his career working for the well known design firm, DCI; this union nurtured his love for all styles of design.  The scope of his work ranges from residential homes nationwide to commercial projects, eclectic restaurants and larger traditional medical facilities.  His style stretches from uber modern to traditional.  Christopher has a passion for beauty and a commitment to the utmost in client service.  The knowledge and experience gained while working at DCI afforded him the opportunity to work on four different Showcase Homes, get published in several national magazines and be a featured designer on two of HGTV’s “New Spaces” programs. In January 2007, the design firm of Christopher Michiels Inc. officially opened for business in Chicago. 

Christopher’s dedication to creating stunning interiors that reflect his client’s personalities and lifestyles along with his fresh and energetic design approach have created a very loyal and growing client base from coast to coast.  In February 2008 Christopher Michiels Inc. opened a second office in Dallas, TX.  One of his recent projects was published in a Dallas magazine.  The Merchandise Mart honored Christopher with the prestigious, “Ones to Watch” award in October of 2008.  In January of 2009 Schmectig Landscapes named him Chief Creative Office creating an entirely unique opportunity to provide clients with beautifully integrated interior and exterior design.

Christopher specializes in residential design and his current projects include sleek urban condos, as well as grand suburban estates.  His ability to work from concept to creation affords his clients the opportunity for professional design guidance from approving the first blueprint to placing the final perfect accessory.
